My whole life I have been very athletic, being a competitive dancer (ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, modern, and hip hop) for 14 years, playing basketball on select teams and in high school for over 10 years and competing in track as a sprinter/jumper for 8. I am currently on EvCC’s track team where I compete in long and triple jump. Due to my 5 knee surgeries on my right leg I had previously stopped doing triple jump but I decided to try it again this season (2019) with only two meets left. Going in ranked 8th for triple jump at NWAC championships, I ended up breaking the school record for triple improving by twenty inches, coming out an inch away from 3rd place. In life you are going to have many obstacles but if you truly love something you need to push as hard as you can to achieve your goal and that’s what I did. Through my experiences as an athlete I have learned team work, patience, and perseverance. Don’t let anything get in your way from achieving your goals. Push as hard as you can.
Currently at EvCC
